Update on chemo alternative

I promised I would provide the details on the chemo alternative Dr. P mentioned this week.  She called it dose intensive.  Instead of taking the chemo drug Temodar in the 5 days on, 23 days off approach I’ve done for over 5 years, it would mean taking it for 21 days on and 7 days off as a routine.  The dosage would be reduced, the same as I took during radiation.  She said over the last couple of years, patients had extended their lives with this approach.  I am scheduled for the next MRI on Feb. 28th.  We’ll see what’s up after that.

For me, I have now decided to screw the whole thing.  I am done with counting days and grilling doctors on what they think, what they predict, etc.  I am making the most of each day.  I will help John when Twisted Stem needs me.  I will sew, enjoy friends, maybe travel a little.  I’ll show up for tests and consider treatment options recommended.  Maybe I’ll follow them.  Maybe I won’t.

For now and the immediate future, check the In Stitches tab on this blog.  Yesterday, I made my brother John an art doll for his birthday.  I’m reading up on fabric design and that could be coming next.

Love you all.
